Department of Computer Science & Engineering
Civil Engineering is the most versatile and coveted branch among all the engineering branches. It is also the single largest branch among all the engineering disciplines. It helps UG students to consolidate their Teaching-learning program with projects, technical workshops and hands-on activities. By use of skill based trans-disciplinary approach students are made professionally better engineers and technologists. Under the leadership of Mr Shrutikant Sharma, a dedicated team of faculty help in achieving the primary objective of this program, that is, to produce adept Civil Engineers capable of entering the profession or continuing with their studies at the post graduate level. Graduates are prepared to solve design problems, and they will have the ability to adapt to changing time.
B.Tech Civil Engineering
M.Tech Civil Engineering
Students take common set of subjects forming the core of Civil Engineering courses. Later they can specialize in the areas of structural engineering, Geo-tech, Transportation etc. Our curriculum lays intensive focus on: Construction Technology, Soil Mechanics, Geotechnology, Surveying, Concrete Technologies, Structural Analysis, Reinforced concrete structures, Transportation Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Hydrology, Sewerage & Sewage Treatment, Bridge Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Design of Steel Structure, Water Resource Engineering and Construction Management.
Civil Engineering Department has a team of 4 well-qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. Two of the Faculty members are having post-graduate qualifications.
From 3rd semester the department is going to establish laboratories which include Fluid Mechanics Lab, Basic Survey Field Work, Civil Engineering Drawing, Hydraulics and Hydraulic Machine Lab, Advanced Survey Field Work, Structural Analysis Lab, Concrete Lab, Transportation Engineering Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab.
Project Work and Training
The students work on innovative ideas, problems from industry as Project work in their Final Year. They learn to work in teams. The students undergo industrial training of six weeks after 2nd and 3rd year as part of the curriculum to make themselves aware of the Industrial Environment & work on Live Projects. Important organizations where students have undergone training are Infosys, L&T Infotech, C-DAC, Dell, Wipro Technologies.
The students of Civil Engineering make career in Central and State Government Department e.g. Central Public Works Department, Indian Railway, Military Engineer Services, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Central Water Commission, Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS), Border Roads Organisation, Survey of India, Public Health, Irrigation and Building & Road etc. In addition, the students can be placed in many of the world’s largest construction and engineering including GMR Group, Simplex Infrastructures Limited, Lanco Infratech Limited, Man Infraconstruction Limited, Atlanta Limited, IVRCL Limited, Hindustan Construction Co. Limited, Ramky Infrastructure Limited, IL&FS Engineering Services, Gammon India, L&T, DLF, OMAX, Unitech, MRMGF and Ansals etc.
