Dr.(Prof.) Savita Sharma is currently director of Swami Devi Dyal Institute of Management studies and Director Operations of Swami Devi Dyal Group of Institutes. A Professional with more than 25 years of extensive experience in Academics, Administration and Research in reputed educational organizations in the designation of Director of management institutes and Director Operations of whole group. Dr.Savita is proficient in establishing and nurturing institutions and facilitating capacity building on Rights-based approach to development. She has significance expertise in managing and developing students emotionally,psychologically,intellectually and spiritually with specialized module programs and conducting meditation sessions and workshops on “how to be more energetic, enthusiastic dynamic & positive” “To Get Rid of Stresses ,Strains & Tensions” and “To Develop Full Potential of life With Awareness”.

She possesses excellent academic background in the field of economics and management. She has done her Ph.D and post graduation in Economics, management and PG in journalism and Mass communication from Kurukshetra university. She has guided over 200 research projects of management and has to her credit the participation and presentation of papers in numerous national and international conferences and publications in several journals. She is life member of All India Management Association, Indian Economic Association and State Economic Associations. She has an incredible vision to ‘Look Over TheHorizon’. To see the future and an inspiration to the students to settle for nothing less than the best. She very well realizes that along with the student’s academic growth, equally important is the enhancement of their total personalities. Thus she mentors them via spiritual guidance and counseling to inculcate in them the strength of character, a spirit of philanthropy and the courage of a lion.

The Institute:

Swami Devi Dyal Institute of Management Studies started functioning as an independent Institute of Swami Devi Dyal Group of Professional Institutions from the session 2008-09 with an intake of 60 students. The Institute is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. The institute has well qualified, dynamic, experienced and dedicated faculty members. Most of the faculty members are UGC-NET qualified and extensively engaged in research work with a strong publication records.

Program Objective:

Students will establish themselves as effective professionals by solving real problems through the use of management science knowledge and with attention to team work, effective communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Infrastructure

The institute is located in a separate three storey building comprising of lecture halls, tutorial rooms, seminar rooms, conference rooms, computer labs, library and faculty offices. The campus is Wi-Fi abled.

Placement Cell:

The institute has a full time active placement cell. In the present session 2014-15 our students of MBA/BBA have got multiple placements through campus placement drives.

Computer Labs:

The institute has two air conditioned computer labs is spread over two floors and is equipped with over 120 Networked computers with an “ALWAYS ON” internet access. Wi-Fi access, Hot Spots have also been provided for the students.

Education Methodology:

Learning is facilitated at institute with the help of Extensive Industry Projects, role plays, management games and case studies to connect knowledge with current business practices. The Program focuses on Contemporary issues facing the industry and hence industry visits and guest Lectures by eminent business personalities form an integral part of our curriculum.

Workshop, Seminar & Conferences

The institute is organizing regular workshops/ seminars for the development of Faculty and Students. Some of the workshops/seminars organized by the institute include Marketing Research, Communication Skills Development, Financial Strategic Management, Recent Development in Human Resource and EntrepreneurshipDevelopment.

Industrial Visits:

Every semester regular Industrial Visits are scheduled to meet out the corporate learning experience for the students.

Library:

The institute has spacious library and reading rooms covers a large collection of Text Books, Reference, Periodicals,National and International Management Journals. The books are Indexed by Author and Title with a computerized search system to assist students in located their Information.
