Swami Devi Dyal College of Nursing was established in the Year 2006. The College is approved & recognized by Haryana Nursing Registration Council (HNRC), Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and is affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.

B.Sc Nursing Students of Swami Devi Dyal college of nursing organized awareness programme on SWATCH BHARAT along with Nursing Staff of General Hospital Sector -6 Panchkula Haryana. They delivered health education to patients and their relatives about the importance of cleanliness and proper disposal of refuse .Posters were displayed.

Director – Principal

Prof (Dr) Saroj Parwez is a doyen in the discipline of nursing in India. Her professional career spans more than four decades during which she held a number of positions as nursing administrator in the government as well as an educationist in her field. She retired from chair of the Nursing Department, as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), of the premier Indian Medical and Health Research Institute (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
She has organized and attended many National and International conferences, Seminars, Workshops and presented research papers. She is also a renowned author for Pearson Educations, the Ivy League publisher, and has published a course book on how to crack the B.Sc Nursing admission tests. She is Ph.D. guide for Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. She has published 30 research publications and abstracts. She was a core member of Indian Nursing Council in the development of “Quality Assurance Model for Nurses”.


Eligibility Criteria For B.Sc. Nursing Course

1) 10+2 with 45% marks with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) & English from recognized Board.
2) Candidates also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) having Science subject and English only.
3) Age : 17 years or more as on 31st December, 2017.
4) 5% relaxation in total marks for SC/ST Students.
5) Any other reservation as per State Govt. under the reservation policy.


ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission in B. Sc. Nursing will be made through Centralized Counseling by the University on the basis of merit of Common Entrance Test to be conducted by the University.

As approved by the Fee Committee, Government of Haryana/ Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.

LABORATORIES

Anatomy & Physiology Lab

Well equipped with articulated & disarticulated skeleton, models like Skull, Cranium, Heart, Kidney, Reproductive system, Digestive system Torso Dummy etc.


Basic Nursing Demonstration Lab (Fundamental Lab)

Fully equipped with articles for basic procedures in Nursing like BP Apparatus, Oxygen Cylinder, Bedpan, Urinals, Feeding cup, Hot water bottles and other rubber goods and linen etc.


Computer Lab

The nursing college has well equipped Computer Lab with more than 25 Computers where the students receive basic practical knowledge of computers. The labs are Wi-Fi networked and the students have unlimited internet access.


MCH Lab

Students are practically trained to provide health to mother and child in home and hospital settings. Lab is equipped with requisites related to MCH care.


Community Health Nursing Lab

In this lab, students are practically trained to give health care and health education to the individuals, family and community at large. Community bags are equipped with some basic medicines and articles are provided to the students during home visiting.


Nutrition Lab

Students are trained to learn & prepare various types of foods, their functions in the body and their nutritive value.


Advance Skill Nursing Lab

Students are trained to learn & prepare various types of procedures to provide advance skill nursing care.


Library

The College has more than 4,100 books on Nursing, Medicine & Surgery and more than 350 books for Reference Section. In addition, the library subscribes to 13 National & International Journals and Magazines for faculty & students.


Clinical & Field Training

Supervised clinical teaching is provided in Swami Devi Dyal General Hospital, General Hospital Sector -6 Panchkula and Govt. Mental Hospital Amritsar. Field Training is provided in, both, rural and urban settings.
